The DPT Group (2021 – 2022)

As a Creative Associate at The DPT Group, I had to create graphic design content for the group’s varying Food & Beverage (F&B) subsidiaries:

(1) CARBON – A rooftop bar & restaurant establishment in the heart of Central that aims to bridge food, wellness and entertainment together.

(2) ROLLIE – An American-Japanese hand-roll sushi concept bar.

(3) CARBS – A Chicago-inspired pizza shop that brings signature American flavours to Hong Kong.

(4) COOKIE DEPARTMENT – A bakery with a specialty for its variety of large, American-inspired cookies.

CARBON

Upon joining the DPT Group, CARBON was in its phase of inception. This meant that I had to learn how to visually embody and communicate its concept alongside the other in-house Creative Associate. There was a grounded grit and welcoming warmth that surrounded the brand identity, which needed to be carefully balanced in the promotional materials. I created an array of night-time promotional flyers, floor plans for day and night time, and EDM elements.

ROLLIE

I had the honour of designing the official written logo for the sushi bar Rollie, which was one of the best responsibilities that I had at The DPT Group. I had handwritten the logo myself, and made many fine-tuned adjustments in Adobe Illustrator to ensure that all parties were satisfied with the outcome. The other deliverables that I produced for this particular restaurant involved designing the menu, social media posts, promotional posters, personally illustrated artwork for curtains (the design with blue waves and a grey skatepark) and laminated artwork.

CARBS

For Carbs, I created a few social media graphics and EDMs. The middle image is a doctored photo that I created for an Instagram post, that featured the Carbs logo on a New York taxi, and the HCODE Logo (the building where Carbs is located on the G/F of) added in the background.

COOKIE DEPARTMENT

One of the first tasks assigned to me during the start of my position at DPT was to create a hoarding design for the upcoming Central Flagship store.

I was instructed to make it simple but bold, and after a series of drafts, the above “Baking Soon…” design is what ended up being the final hoarding. It is straight to the point and eye-catching, with their signature cookie in middle and the details for the store opening right beside it.

Similar to the previous establishments, I created an assortment of graphic design elements for Cookie DPT. I created Instagram Stories, an Instagram filter specifically for Cookie DPT (“Which Cookie DPT Cookie Are You?”), EDM materials, menus, a layout for their standee mirror, illustrations, and an Instagram Video to promote a “Free Delivery” campaign that we had in partnership with GogoX (of which the photo-taking and video editing were done by me).

I learned a great deal being a Creative Associate with the DPT Group. The team was small, and oftentimes the campaigns that we did required much more manpower. But it was under these conditions that I improved my time management, teamwork, multi-tasking skills and creative capabilities.
